Course AimsThe aim of this course is to support students to: - Understand principles of urban economy. - Identify urban, social, political, economic and environmental problems. - Understand feasibility studies concepts and targets; - Apply feasibility studies techniques, in Urban projects; - Evaluate different types of feasibility for Urban projects; - Prepare and Present Business plan for Urban projects; - Solve projects economic and financial problems by using feasibility models, and - Evaluate and assess demographic and economic growth, trends and policies. - Share ideas and communicate with other (funding firms and governmental agencies)

The definitions, concepts and main targets of feasibility studies; Economic models for cities and economic trends governing allocating of activities and uses, supply and demand and their effects on urbanization and on the society. Appling feasibility studies techniques in urban projects. It addresses pre-investment, preliminary and final feasibility studies for urban projects. Different investment opportunities and their costs and factors affecting real estate appraisal. Different cost and revenues items in different project stages, cost benefit analysis, financial structure of projects, cash flow tables and balance between the execution time table and the financial structure of the urban project. Demographic analysis and population projections methods using statistics computer applications. -
