Introduction to optical communication systems, Dispersion analysis and compensation in optical fiber, Photodetectors, Noise in Photodetectors and optical receivers, High-impedance and Trans-impedance receivers, Optical couplers and wavelength multiplexers, Optical amplification in point-to-point fiber links, IM-DD Direct detection, Signal-to-noise ratio of analog transmission systems, Bit error rate and quantum limit of OOK, Heterodyne and Homodyne detection, FSK and PSK, Attenuation-limited and dispersion-limited performance, Optical link design, WDM transmission systems and optical networks. -
