    Visual inspection (VT): Joining and metal forming processes and developments of discontinuities, In-service discontinuities with respect to stress and corrosion, Tools for VT. Die penetrant test (PT): Scope of application, proper use and calibration of media and equipment, and an overview of the origin and nature of discontinuities, technique demonstrations and hands-on lab exercises. Magnetic test (MT): Basic theory of magnetism, applications for the testing of ferromagnetic materials. Technique demonstrations and hands-on lab exercises. Ultrasonic test (UT): Review of basic ultrasonic theory, evaluation of weldments, innovative techniques to detect and evaluate discontinuit
