What Will Learn?
-
Course AimsBy the end of the course the students will be able to: • Establishing scientific bases for the students in the field of Electrochemistry. • Providing the student with knowledge about the redox reactions involved in electrochemistry. • Knowing the different types of electro- cells. • Studying the galvanic (Voltic) cell and measuring the standard cell potential and relating this volt to the spontaneity of the reaction. • Determining which electrode is the anode and which is the cathode. • Studying the electrolytic cells and their applications. • Studying the applications of all types of electro- cells. • Knowing the mechanism of the electroplating to protect metals from corrosion. • Corrosion of metals and how can we control it. • Studying the different types of batteries and how can they work
