Course AimsThe aim of this course is to provide students with: - Enrich the student knowledge with the importance of power electronic devices in industrial electronics systems and applications. - Develop the student ability to analyze and characterize different DC chopper circuits and power inverter circuits. - Gain the practical skills for connecting and testing different power electronics converters.

Dc to Dc Converters: buck, boost, buck-boost, Cuk dc/dc converters. Quadrants of operation of DC to DC converters. Inverters: half-bridge, full-bridge, single-phase and three-phase bridge inverters, PWM modulation techniques. Applications: uninterruptible power supply (UPS), induction heating. Interfacing of Solar energy, Wind energy with utility grid. Voltage Source Converters “VSC”, Applications in AC and DC systems. -
