Silicon Photonics Electro-Optic Modulators
Under the pressure of the continuosly rising demand for high speed telecommunications, silicon photonics weighs in as the platform that offers the ultimate speed known in the universe until now, the speed of light. Electro-optic modulators, based on this technology, convert data from the electrical domain to the optical domain in order to be transferred over optical fibers or in a free-space-optical system. The results we have in our publications show that such modulators can also serve in the new 5G systems.
